Recreational Rhythmic Gymnastics

About this class

Our Recreational Rhythmic Gymnastics class welcomes girls ages 8 to 18 at every ability level. It suits a beginner as well as a student who already knows rhythmic gymnastics and wants a friendly, non-competitive setting.

Students are guided through stretching, ballet, dance and rhythmic gymnastics movements, working with rope, hoop, ball and ribbon in harmony with music. Colorful scarves are also used as teaching props.

Taught by certified coaches, the class offers fitness and fun while teaching the basic skills of the sport in a playful, supportive environment. The program encourages physical fitness, self-discipline, confidence and teamwork, and gives students a place to make friends and enjoy being active.

We will hold an annual show for parents and friends where students can demonstrate what they have learned. Students who become interested in competitive training can explore our Competitive Program. Competition is optional.

What to wear

• A leotard or fitted athletic clothes, without loose T-shirts.
• White socks, not bare feet or sneakers.
• Hair tied back in a bun or tight ponytail.
